AI-powered technology set to increase efficiency and profits for Brazilian pork and poultry producers.
A Canadian ag-tech company is making waves in the global livestock industry as Kitchener, Ont.-based BinSentry teams up with Cargill to bring its cutting-edge AI-powered feed management technology to Brazil. The partnership, formalized this week, will see Cargill become the exclusive distributor of BinSentry’s smart sensor platform in the country, helping pork and poultry producers streamline operations, reduce waste, and boost profits.
BinSentry has earned a reputation as a leader in precision feed monitoring, with its rugged, solar-powered sensors already tracking feed levels in more than 25,000 bins across Canada and the United States. The company’s proprietary technology delivers 99% accuracy in feed inventory management, reducing costly out-of-feed events and eliminating the risks associated with manual checks.
“Intelligent process automation is the new frontier in animal production,” said BinSentry CEO Ben Allen. “With feed representing 60% to 70% of total production costs, producers stand to gain significant efficiency and cost savings through AI-powered supply chain management.”
The new agreement builds on a four-year collaboration between BinSentry and Cargill that has already brought this advanced technology to North American producers. Now, the partnership is expanding into Brazil—a global leader in poultry and pork production but one where vast territory and diverse landscapes present logistical challenges.
“Cargill, a global leader with over 150 years of history, is proud to team up with BinSentry, a growing ag-tech innovator, to bring cutting-edge technology to Brazil,” he said. “This will help producers optimize their operations, increase competitiveness, and strengthen Brazil’s position as a top exporter of pork and poultry.”
By integrating BinSentry’s AI-powered insights with Cargill’s expertise in animal nutrition, logistics, and analytics, producers will gain access to real-time data that enhances decision-making, reduces transportation costs, and improves overall feed conversion efficiency.
Dalmagro emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Cargill’s commitment to helping producers operate more sustainably while improving their bottom line. “We pride ourselves on understanding our customers’ needs and finding the best solutions to support their success. This technology will help them unlock savings and make data-driven decisions that drive profitability.”
With this partnership, BinSentry continues to reinforce Canada’s role as a hub for agricultural innovation, bringing homegrown technology to the global stage and driving efficiencies in livestock production worldwide.
