Innovation-driven company connects shippers with drivers via unique technology platform
An innovation-driven Alberta-based company disrupting the freight and heavy equipment shipping sector with the latest generation of its advanced automated shipping platform has been named among the “Top 30 Start-ups for 2019,” as featured at the Inventure$ conference, June 5-7, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta.
Trusted Dispatch Inc., based out of its new head office in Calgary, has turned heads and enjoyed fast-rising interest from customers, drivers, investors and potential partners, by combining elements of an ‘Uber for shipping’ approach with unique system, service and process advantages, all powered by the latest generation of its newly released platform accessible at www.trusteddispatch.com.
Powering forward - Built for the new world
The company, which originated in Grande Prairie has enjoyed a steady trajectory of success since its inception. Along with progress developing industry-leading software for automated shipping, it has carefully fine-tuned its approach based on the feedback and experiences of a diverse and rapidly growing base of grass roots customers – initially based in Western Canada and now expanding both nationally and internationally – who see huge benefits with Trusted Dispatch as a simple automated solution to move everything from small freight to heavy equipment.
“In the new world of technology-driven shipping solutions, we believe the future is now and we are excited to lead the charge with our advanced shipping platform,” says Dusty LaValley, founder and CEO of Trusted Dispatch. “We are very pleased to be named among the Top 30 Start-ups as featured at the Inventure$ conference. This recognition represents another major step forward in an exciting journey for our team and, most importantly, for our growing network of drivers and shippers who are generating the momentum that is taking our model to the next level of growth and opportunity. We are excited to build further on this progress as we push forward with expansion plans both here in Canada and more broadly internationally.”
The cutting-edge of innovation
The winners of the “Top 30 Start-ups for 2019” at Inventure$ were selected from among numerous applicants from across the country, as chosen by the Award Selection Committee of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). NACO partners with the Inventure$ conference to recognize the Top 30 Startups and host three days of premium content at the annual event, which is billed as the must- attend ‘unconference’ that connects entrepreneurs and start-ups with venture capitalists, angel investors, service providers, and though leaders to discover and share the latest in innovation.
“Inventure$ is a leading showcase of innovation. The community represented here is one we’re proud to be a part of, especially as a local Alberta-based company,” says LaValley. “Our system is positioned at the leading-edge and we are committed to staying there through continual improvement. Events like this play an important role. The ideas and insights, knowledge sharing and networking here at Inventure$ is all very beneficial for our current stage of growth and beyond. There is a lot of innovation going on, both here in Alberta and across the country. It all bodes well for the future.”
Rapidly expanding marketplace
The Trusted Dispatch platform serves a rapidly expanding marketplace, says Alex Gierus, Chief Technology Officer with Trusted Dispatch. “A big focus is connecting loads with drivers already going that way empty. No load is too big or too small. Our registered drivers get the job done and it’s a win-win for everyone. For the shippers this provides a great option typically saving them 30 percent off traditional shipping costs. For drivers it’s an opportunity to make some extra money, without the hassle.”
Trusted Dispatch services agriculture, oil and gas, forestry, mining and much more across Canada and the United States. The system can be used for everything from something small enough to fit into the back of a car to heavy equipment weighing up to 100,000 lbs. The latest generation of the system builds on what has worked in the past, with refinements across the board that make it even simpler and more efficient to use, says Gierus.
“For users we have a simple three step process that instantly computes and gives you the cost. Once a load is submitted the system connects with drivers and finds the best option. The user is in full control every step of the way until the load is delivered to their satisfaction. We also offer industry leading service to provide any assistance needed every step of the way. With our new system everything is better than ever – we are looking forward to increasing our activity in more regions and with more customers in the weeks and months ahead.”
